Ridiculous things I’ve caught myself saying to the dogs

January 27, 2012 Filed Under: Argo the wonder dog, STELLA

  • Do you like my singing?  Exactly!  Because it’s fabulous.
  • Don’t yell at me. It’s not my fault you fell off the bed.
  • I don’t appreciate your tone, young lady.
  • I know what you’re trying to say, you’re trying to say it’s time for breakfast ’cause it’s breakfast time! Oooh!
  • It’s my turn on the treadmill.  You already had your turn!
  • I’m stress eating.  Don’t judge me.
  • Yeah, well, I don’t get a treat every time I want one either.

My dogs do NOT like my singing. They look at me judgmentally and then hide in another room whenever I sing in the house.

I once had a cat that tried to climb into my hair every time I played the violin.

I am a SAHM with my little girl and our Great Dane/Lab Mix. I talk to him all the time because he’s the only interaction I get! He judges me sometimes, I can tell. He gives me these looks like, “Alright, you know I can’t understand you, why do you still talk?”

Today is National Drink Wine day, and while I cert Today is National Drink Wine day, and while I certainly appreciate the art that is a good glass of wine, I am unfortunately one of those people who turns wine into headaches. (I swear it started post-appendectomy and someday we’ll discover THAT’S what your appendix is for!) But I do love the social aspect of chatting over a drink that feels special and I love getting to use these huge green goblets I’ve had since my first apartment. So, when I chat with book clubs or zoom into happy hours, I’m usually drinking some kind of elaborate cranberry juice concoction, (or straight up apple juice like a party animal). Break out your fancy glasses and celebrate with whatever you’re drinking. Sometimes we need a little cheer in whatever form works for us. #nationalwineday #cheers #bookstagram #bookclubs #bookclubsofinstagram
