Nothing says Thanksgiving like major bathroom renovations, right? The in-laws were ever so brave and kind and came all the way out from Michigan to help us. The Larkin men finished demolishing the bathroom and even got the new tub/shower combo in (and it's beautiful!), and I served up a dinner made by Wegmans (because finishing book edits, coming up with new book ideas, and demo-ing a bathroom really don't lend well to cooking a beautiful Thanksgiving feast and no one makes better mashed potatoes than Wegs does anyway). Walking on, Walking on Broken Glass. . .
We are saying goodbye the horrendous green monstrosity of a bathroom we have coped with for the past six years.The bathtub, sink, and toilet were all green. But they were all different greens. The sink and tub were slightly different shades of mint chocolate chip ice cream green (minus the chocolate chips) and the toilet was closer to avocado. The painted part of the walls - yet another shade of green, and the floor tiles - oh, you guessed it, several varying shades of green. Things that have happened since I last blogged
The VOA came to pick up all of our donated items.I got overly sentimental about giving away Walter, the duck umbrella I've had since 4th grade, and J and I spent about 45 minutes going through all the packed up boxes to rescue him before the VOA truck came.I had the little red mark on my nose removed with a laser that left a little red mark on my nose.My car wouldn't start and had to be towed and the tow truck guy told me he thought it was done for.Thinking my car was done for made the big repair bill seem not-so-bad.I got a review copy of STAY and spent about 80 gazillion hours staring at it. … [Read more...]
